Services Overview
Custom Array Services
Iverson’s Custom Array Services provide a complete microarray service to Physicians and Scientists in disease research.  Our Custom Array Service experts will work closely with investigators to design custom arrays, prepare samples and produce high quality data that meets your specific research needs.  This approach puts you in total control of the content on each microarray.  You design the Custom Arrays using our free web-based software and we will ship them to you within 30 business days. Iverson’s Custom Array is a unique system for the synthesis of oligonucleotide microarrays.  Our web-based software utilizes an advanced thermodynamic algorithm for cross-hybridization detections that produce the highest quality probes for all experimental purposes.  The microarray is then synthesized on a semiconductor using an electrochemical synthesis process based on established phosphoramidite chemistry. The oligonucleotide probes are synthesized on a platinum electrode that is controlled by our platform’s computer. Then, in a proprietary porous reaction layer, which coats the surface of the semiconductor, the oligonucleotides are covalently attached directly to the surface of the chip. The process is simple and straight-forward. Customers can control the entire experimental strategy from the beginning to the end:  the investigation, protocol, input sequences, and data analysis can be designed by you, and Iverson will create a Custom Array designed specifically for your needs.


Gene Expression
Iverson provides many options for research, GLP, or CLIA-compliant DNA variation analysis.  Services range from whole genome scans to targeted SNP genotyping, using a variety of genotyping platforms. Iverson's gene expression profiling service covers all the steps of an Affymetrix GeneChip® experiment starting from the extraction of RNA from cells or tissues up to the analysis of the generated data. Currently we offer three different types of services. Iverson provides complimentary state-of-the-art Automated Microarray Data Analysis (AMDA) to all customers.  Please note: service fees do not include the cost of the test or standard array. Investigators must order their own standard arrays directly from Affymetrix. Test arrays will be available at the facility.


Genotyping
Iverson provides many options for research, GLP or CLIA-compliant DNA variation analysis. Services range from whole genome scans to targeted SNP genotyping, using a variety of genotyping platforms.Iverson's Genotyping Platform provides high-throughput genotyping services on a fee for service basis to researchers in the academic, industrial and pharmaceutical communities. Genotyping is aimed at identifying candidate gene regions for genetic studies via genome-wide and fine mapping techniques. The platform can genotype Microsatellites, Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) or some in/del variations


Nucleic Acid Extraction
RNA Isolation - Iverson offers RNA isolation services from tissues and cell pellets. Total RNA is isolated using QIAGEN products, including on-column DNase treatment, with some tissue-specific modifications. One of the most critical parameters influencing RNA integrity is the immediate stabilization of specimens during the procurement procedure. For tissue and cell pellet sources the two most effective methods are flash freezing and immediate transfer to a commercially available stabilization matrix, such as RNALater.

DNA Isolation - Iverson offers genomic DNA isolation services from tissues and cell pellets, including blood specimens collected in PAXgene DNA tubes. Genomic DNA is isolated using QIAGEN procedures.

Blood Specimens - Iverson specializes in the purification of DNA/RNA from whole blood using PAXgene DNA tubes. These products offer a standardized system for the collection and stabilization of whole blood specimens followed by the isolation of cellular DNA/RNA.  Benefits include immediate stabilization of the DNA/RNA and the expression profile. The PAXgene product has received 510(k) approval by the FDA for use in clinical and diagnostic applications.


Sequencing
Iverson offers a high throughput sequencing service designed to 96- or 384-well microplate platforms, As part of the high throughput service, Iverson will conduct high throughput DNA isolation and purification if required. The benefits of Iverson's high throughput sequencing service include:  Iverson's devoted project data manager, High quality sequencing data, Custom primer design and synthesis, Capacity of ~20,000 sequence reads/day

Samples - Clients are required to submit 96- or 384-well plates of purified plasmid DNA, purified or unpurified PCR amplicons, or bacterial cells.  Iverson can provide plating, picking and arraying of a transformed library for subsequent sequencing.
