WHY IT MATTERS
Empowering People to Extend and Improve their Lives. The completion of the Human Genome Project, with its decoding of nearly 30,000 genes in the human body, opened up an entirely new spectrum of knowledge, one offering a tremendous potential for improving human health and well-being. Genetic diagnostic testing can benefit virtually every individual by giving them a comprehensive tool to assess their health. By understanding their predispositions to a broad spectrum of diseases, individuals are able to take preventative measures to mitigate their risk. Early detection is the key to success. It will provide physicians and their patients with profound insights into their lives and the interactive disease process. Physicians will be able to mitigate substantial health care costs and be able to intervene more quickly, confidently and effectively in the interest of promoting optimal health for their patients.
